Finished drywall around windows

Tonight we finished drywalling the 9 windows in the house. Lots of small pieces, took a while but am glad it's done. Now I think that the only drywall work we have is the bar. I plan to do more mud and taping in the next few days. I was thinking yesterday about flooring, painting and buying furniture. I got so overwhelmed that I decided I wouldn't dwell on those things right now. One thing I've learned is that it's ONE thing at a time and ONE day at a time when you are building your own.

Finished Living Room

Well, last night we finally finished hanging drywall in the living room. After that we did all of our son's bedroom. Now we only have to hang some rock in our master bedroom below the window and in our half bath then we are done with that long job :) We haven't done any more mud and taping since Sunday night.

Mud and Tape

I called around to find a drywall tape Banjo at our local lumber stores. Found out there was a dry banjo and a wet banjo available. I bought a Goldblatt wet banjo. Cost was 109.00. I had no idea how to use this thing, but our nephew has done a lot of mud and taping and he showed us how. Husband and nephew handled the taping while I started on covering the nail heads with mud. What a dirty job! Later in the day I decided I would try my hand at using this banjo, I caught on quick and decided that tomorrow I could go out and do most of the areas except the ceiling.

Almost done hanging drywall in the living room!

Our son had other things to do tonight, so I helped hubby hang drywall in the living room tonight. After this is finished, we only have one room left to hang in, sons room. Then we will start mud and taping and then texturing the walls. I went to Lowe's and bought all the stuff we'll need. I hope to start some of the mud and tape work by Sunday.

Finished guest bedroom

Finished up hanging drywall in the guest bedroom tonight. Tried to do underside of arch, but our piece we had left bowing broke on us.

More Drywall

Hung drywall in the guest bedroom and almost finished it. We were able to get 3 full sheets hung in the living room. I think we now have the master bedroom closet done, so with the exception of right below the window, the master bedroom is finished.
